Saying goodbye to fossil fuels, striving for CO₂-neutral operations, nitrogen reduction and seasonal bridging storage pose challenges that many green energy sources such as solar and wind energy cannot continuously provide and do not sufficiently compensate for the comfort of fossil fuels. As a result, energy security, sustainability, affordability and achieving the globally set climate goals are under pressure.

In the search for sustainable energy carriers, an obvious material shows a valuable solution for all the problems that are playing a role worldwide around the energy transition. CO₂-neutral energy carriers with low nitrogen oxide emissions, transportable and continuously reusable.

Metals, we come into contact with them every day. Metals are an essential part of our modern economy.

We have been aware of the power and impact of metals for a long time. But the fact that metals as energy carrier will have to play an important role in our energy needs is still undervalued.

The Metal Power Community is committed to the global integration of renewable, flexible and transportable energy through metals.

 

The challenge is not only in the technology, but also in the social embedding by creating social support, a market and belief to use metals as energy carrier alongside other ‘sustainable’ energy carriers.

Because the technology is still young and relatively unknown, it is not yet widely accepted. It is therefore essential to bring the opportunities and solutions that metals as energy carrier offer to the attention of as many stakeholders as possible, such as end users and policymakers. In this way, the market can be shaped.

From an ecosystem perspective, it is necessary to build a value chain that consists of a diversity of players to enable market diversification and resilience.

To enable global acceptance and regulation, it is necessary to form a community in which the value chain, educational institutions and end users form a common message.

After all, together we are stronger.
