ConnectSME

The ConnectSME project has the specific ambition to connect technology from SMEs to existing infrastructure (testbeds) to allow them to test and demonstrate their product or system in a real “living” environment. In this way, ConnectSME contributes to giving them the opportunity to bridge the so-called Valley of Death. The project will respond to local and regional innovation needs by connecting prototypes from SMEs to the technological challenges and questions that are present in various existing testbeds. In doing so, we focus on complementary strengths within low-carbon technologies, leveraging competencies of the various operators of the testbed infrastructure and promoting sustainable economic growth. Pilot projects also transcend sectors and relate energy to other sectors such as construction, mobility, materials, etc. They address energy transition in a broader social context

Via ConnectSME, the number of companies that succeed in converting their innovative products into market successes and contributing to the realization of the shared climate challenges of both regions will increase. This offers both a significant contribution to the climate objectives and economic added value in the form of more turnover and more employment in both regions.
