This project aims to develop an advanced prototype that uses iron powder to generate electricity and heat on demand. In collaboration with Heat Power and Metalot Future Energy Lab, we integrate the Rankine Compression Gas Turbine (RCG) with existing iron burner technology. This integration enables fast switching between heat and electricity production, crucial for stabilizing the electricity grid during fluctuating energy supply.
A key feature of this project is the small-scale realization of a system that can operate independently of weather influences, making it particularly suitable for industries with high heat demand. The project not only demonstrates the technical feasibility, but also facilitates the development of new business models for thermally intensive SMEs by combining flexible electricity production with reliable heat supply.
