The project 'Met Energie de Boer Op', a continuation of the initial MRE study, focuses on setting up a sustainable and self-sufficient local energy community. Conducted by Metalot Future Energy Lab and various partners, this TSE study explores the integration of iron powder technology within local energy infrastructures, where small to medium-sized industrial companies collaborate with local energy sources.
The study aims to evaluate the technical, economic and legal feasibility of an integrated Iron Power ecosystem. This system will use iron powder as a means for CO2-free heat production, regenerating iron oxide in the vicinity into new iron powder using renewable energy.
By creating a local energy community, the project aims to achieve a circular and efficient energy supply that benefits the entire local community.
