Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a leading civic university and one of the largest universities in the United Kingdom with 40,000 students. We apply our research to local and global challenges, deliver teaching and learning that engages with our community and welcome access to our campuses. Our strategic research theme, Safety and Sustainability, brings together expertise from a wide range of disciplines.
From pioneering sustainable farming practices to advancing renewable energy. Our work is focused on protecting the planet and securing a greener future for all. NTU is home to the Development and Diagnostic of Alternative Fuels Laboratory, which bridges fundamental science and practical applications to deliver Net Zero solutions, with a strong focus on metal fuels as a sustainable energy carrier.
We use state-of-the-art experimental techniques to develop and characterise metal fuels and their systems. Our research is attracting external funding and international collaborators, driving forward the adoption of this renewable, flexible, and transportable energy source.
